Hyderabad is home to 100s of Multi-speciality hospitals and the first city to operate organised Emergency ambulance services in India. The city emerged as a Global technology and heath city within the last decade, India’s first 108 service born here.

During the last decade many independent Ambulance providers have started operating their service to provide timely services to various hospitals across the city.  These independent provider operations not powered with quality GPS Tracking and Route optimisation technologies.  Fleetly is bring Independent Ambulance providers onto a single platform to help optimising their fleets and reduce costs.  Over 100+ Ambulances in Hyderabad are powered by Fleetly.

Learn how independent Ambulance providers are taking advantage of Fleetly’s Video Telematics technology to manage their fleets effectively.

GPS based vehicle tracking and fleet management technology is in use across the world for over a decade, despite the wide use of technology only small percentage of transportation and logistics vehicles within India have used this technology.  Technology moved further with Autonomous Driving technologies, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Driver Monitoring Systems to improve safety but millions of vehicles continue to use LBS based technology which is not a great use as the position of these vehicles could be miles away from its actual location. LBS technology uses Cell Tower locations instead of GPS.

India’s rapid growth over last 2 decades has put massive pressure on the infrastructure and it requires massive planning and organizing the traffic and infrastructure development to meet today’s demand require innovation and technology help to collect information and real time monitoring. Such requirement enabled Govt. of India to mandate AIS-140 (Automotive Industry Standard – 140) with the help of Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).  The AIS-140 mandates that GPS based vehicle tracking device and with SOS (Emergency) Panic button to install on all commercial and public service transport vehicles.

The recommendation is definitely the right direction to India’s growing logistics and transportation industries, however managing millions of vehicles nationwide comes with logistical and technical challenges.  Government targets have failed and required a revised thinking and regulation of software and hardware is required.  The costs of certifying the devices with ARAI is proven to be too expensive for MSME organisations to enter into the market.  The cost of getting a device approval / certification costs in excess of 10,000 USD. ARAI must reconsider the costs as these costs will be passed onto the vehicle operators to recover the investment.

Millions of small and independent owners are reluctant to comply with the recommendation due to their limited technical skills operating applications and associated costs.  Govt of India should consider subsiding the costs and run workshops across India.

Customers considering AIS-140 compliance devices installations are asked to check with their software provider where would they store the data and how scalable the infrastructure is.  Most GPS Tracking companies appears to be using China based technology.  Basically, India is giving away its vehicle movement data to China free of cost.  This market requires to curb on devices which store data outside India.

Running an efficient fleet is a challenging task, without an efficient system it is almost impossible to avert risk and reduce operations costs. Therefore, it is essential to use fleet management system combined with driver behaviour analysis, driver coaching tools to ensure driver are regularly trained. Periodic driver league table enables Fleet Managers to reward good drivers and train drivers regularly to improve driver behaviour to make roads safer.
Fleet Telematics solution such as Fleetly can help businesses to identify driving patterns such as rash driving, Idling and Over speed. These tools enable fleet managers to monitor worst performing drivers and coach them in a right direction to transform them to good drivers. It results in reduction in fuel usage, reduces costs and improves profitability. It also reduces wear and tear and low running costs leads to increased profitability.

Driver League Table / Reports

Telematics solution analyses driver behaviour events and prepare a driver league tables where comparison of driver scores is highlighted. The drivers with erratic driving behaviour are highlighted as a Risk Profile to the business. Good Drivers are marked with Highest scores, It simply uses colour coding to categorise drivers based on the score.

Telematics driver behaviour primarily takes 5 factors in calculating driver scores i.e. Cornering, Acceleration, Braking, Speed and time of travel. Each factor score is separately show and cumulative score based on weightage rules are applied therefore each driver is fairly scored.

Driver Coaching Tools From Fleetly Enables Fleet Operators Reduce An Average

Technology advancements in the area of transport has become an imminent to address 21st century road network problems such as congestion, speeding etc., Majority of accidents occur due to human error. Many research organisations across the world has published papers suggests human errors are the root cause for the road accidents.
Fleetly developed a technology in association with device manufacturers to provide vehicle safety solution to reduce road fatalities by minimising human faults. Advanced Driver Assistance systems provide automated assistance to drivers in the below areas:

  •  Pedestrian crossing
  •  Lane departure warning
  •  Collision avoidance
  •  Reversing assistance
  •  Distraction Driving (Mobile usage, Smoking & Eating while Driving)

Large to Medium organisation requires a technology platform to manage fleet risk day to day. Drivers are required to coach and make them responsible for their actions. Vehicle owners or Fleet managers providing addition support to their drivers when unthinkable happens. If vehicles involve in a collision, providing immediate support to drivers and passengers is crucial. Fleetly Risk manager allows fleet owners and HR executives to assess impact on incidents with 3 axis data enabling you to take immediate action.

Event analysis with reasoning enables Risk Manager to analyse events to categorise incidents and accidents therefore archive events for insurance purposes. Fleetly Risk Manager enables claim handlers to request and capture additional information from drivers and fleet manager to initiate claims process

Fleet operation is a complex activity and tremendous task to the fleet managers to oversee large fleets. Compliance rules and regulations such as Corporate Manslaughter laws requires a discipline to the organisations to ensure vehicles are serviced on time and kept roadworthy for the safety.

Vehicles require a periodic service on time such as Oil changes, recommended mileage services, Tyre safety checks, Insurance renewals and Pollution check. Advanced fleet management solution such as Fleetly enables fleet owners create reminders at set times or at an automated schedules based on Mileage or time.
